LEM3

The LEM3 is a Joint Research Unit # 7239 CNRS - University of Lorraine - Arts and Crafts ParisTech, mainly attached to the Institute of Sciences of Engineering and Systems (INSIS) CNRS. The fields of activity of LEM3 concern Materials, Mechanics, the study of Microstructures and Processes. LEM3 is at the level of the best international teams on many subjects, in particular: plastic and thermoplastic instabilities, phase transformations, characterization and evolution microstructure and texture under thermomechanical treatments, intelligent materials, multi-scale modeling, self-organization of crystalline defects, surface integrity obtained by mechanical processes, dynamic behavior of materials, engineering for health, high-speed machining, buckling and vibration structures, dynamics of materials behavior, micromechanical modeling, numerical methods.

MSME

The Modeling and Multi-Scale Simulation (MSME) laboratory has been associated with the CNRS as UMR 8208 since 1 January 2010. In addition to the CNRS, the laboratory depends on 2 institutions of the University Community of Universities and Institutions (Comue). Université Paris-Est (UPE), which is the Université Paris-Est Marne la Vallée (UPEM, main branch) and the Université Paris-Est Créteil Val de Marne (UPEC). At the CNRS, the laboratory is attached to the Institute of Engineering Sciences and Systems (INSIS, main attachment) and to the Institute of Chemistry (INC, secondary attachment). The MSME laboratory is a major player in the LABEX MMCD Modeling & Experimentation for Sustainable Construction, and is associated with the I-SITE FUTURE of Paris-Est University.

Institutions

UL

At the heart of Europe, the University of Lorraine relies on a network of partner universities in the Greater Region and worldwide. It bases its international influence on the mobility of researchers, teaching researchers and students and the internationalization of its training.
With 5 centuries of history, the University of Lorraine is a pioneering university in the collaboration between arts, technology and industry, whose action is embodied today in innovative projects such as ARTEM, the Jean Lamour Institute, the Lafayette Institute, the Biopôle, ...

CNRS

Created in 1939, the National Center for Scientific Research is a public research organization (public institution of scientific and technological nature, under the supervision of the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research). It produces knowledge and puts this knowledge at the service of society. With nearly 33,000 people, located throughout France, the CNRS operates in all fields of knowledge, drawing on more than 1,100 research and service units. With 20 Nobel laureates and 12 Fields Medal recipients, the CNRS has a long tradition of excellence.
